Winchester City Neighbourhood Policing Team Weekly Update
We have been busy this week on our week of day shifts conducting enquiries for a number of reported incidents, as well as assisting our response colleagues with live 999 jobs.
Here are a few highlights we would like to share:
- At the start of the week, our colleagues from the response team arrested a male in relation to a number of Criminal Behaviour Order breaches. This male has since been charged and remanded into custody for these offences. This is currently being dealt with by PC Croxton.
- A female was arrested by PC Jeffery in relation to a robbery which occurred on the High Street. The female has been charged and bailed by the courts.
- At the same time, another male was sighted who was wanted for outstanding shoplifting offences. Following a short area search, PCSO Leung and PCSO Puntis stopped the male and he was swiftly arrested by our response colleagues. This male has since been handed a 16 weeks prison sentence.
- PC Jeffery has issued a Community Protection Warning to a male who has been causing a number of issues in and around the city. We utilise Community Protection Warnings and Orders to ensure that the city is safer from prolific offenders. #SaferStreetsSummer
- PC Jones and PC Wheeler attended an incident where an elderly male was suspected to be a victim of a fraud. Thankfully, with the quick intervention of those officers and the bank, the £2500 fraudulent transaction was prevented and work being done to safeguard the male. https://orlo.uk/69Nva
- PCSO Window stopped another wanted male who was outstanding for domestic related offences. He has since been bailed pending further investigation.
Overall, a busy week for us all and we are looking forward to the weekend to rest up in time for the late shifts!
